Bracing the chimney.
The ceiling was removed all around the outside walls to that the floor/ceiling joists could be tied to the walls. This photo shows some of the old wiring that is still in use.
This north wall was the one most in need of reinforcement. It was slowly being pushed out. All around the top floor outside walls, bolts and plates like these were installed to fasten the walls to the rafters.
Looking up through the removed ceiling at the attic side of the cupola. The renewed cupola from the outside before the steps and entry were rebuilt.
